In the seventies Barb realized that in the Georgian Triangle and Simcoe County (Barrie to Stayner to Collingwood area) women with "discerning taste in fashion" did not have a shopping alternative.

Retailers provided mass market products that replicated and stamped a certain designer's taste on women everywhere. Barb realized that fashion needed to be taken to "the next level".

On August 18, 1976 Barb Jerry filled that void in women's fashion needs when she opened "Barb's Clothes Closet".

Our focus, then and now, has always been simple and powerful:
